The report analyzes the commitment to development cooperation, fair working conditions (rules of action), facilitation of Fair-Trade and the importance of education. The two basic questions are “Which Swiss municipalities act economically responsibly?”, and “Which Swiss municipalities show solidarity with developing and emerging countries?” The winners are the biggest two cities: Zürich and Geneva. Whereas Zürich scores high on economic responsibility, Geneva gains the highest score on solidarity. Runner-ups are Lausanne, Bern, Luzern and Winterthur. The ranking of smaller towns and cities will follow later this year. You can find the full report here: Solidar Gemeinderating (so far only in German).
