We are off searching for wind and waves. Therefore I would like to introduce you today to the Surfrider Foundation. If you surf or practice any other water or soul sport, check it out! This is how they introduce themselves: “The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our world’s oceans, waves and beaches. Founded in 1984 by a handful of visionary surfers in Malibu, California, the Surfrider Foundation now maintains over 50,000 members and 90 chapters worldwide.”
They are into educating people about water, protection of the ocean and they actively fight plastic. One of their programs is called Ocean Friendly Gardens and tries to sensibilize people about pesticides, fertilizers and herbicides, and the impact they have on the ocean. This program helps people to find organic alternatives to the often toxic products they use to keep their gardens green and colourful.
Speaking of surfing, why not ripping the waves on a recycled surfboard made out of trash?
