Grassrooting Health

Nathalie Jeremijenko runs an environmental health clinic. People get prescriptions not for medicine but on how to improve the world they live in.

The basic idea behind the environmental health clinic is to see how health is dependant on external local environments and how it can be improved by changing exactly that. How does it work?

“You make an appointment, just like you would at a traditional health clinic, to talk about your particular environmental health concerns. What differs is that you walk out with a prescription not for pharmaceuticals but for actions.”

Natalie Jeremijenko: The art of the eco-mindshift

Visit the homepage of the environmental health clinic. There you can find their Urban Air project, see how they create non-parking areas or how they make trees grow upside down.

One of their outstanding activities are called FARMACY “It is a distributed urban farming system that is designed to improve environmental health and augment biodiversity in addition to producing edibles.”
